Chandi Puja / Yagna, is one of the most powerful rituals performed to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga. One can benefit from good health and happy family life by performing this Puja. It is conducted in almost all temples dedicated to the divine Mother. The Puja is considered as the supreme form of worship among the devotees who consider Devi Bhagwati or Adi Parashakti is the supreme God. The name Chandi is another name of the Goddess as mentioned in the Devi Mahatamya. The Goddess Chandi is represented as the fierce and passionate form of Goddess Durga. As per the Devi Mahatamya, the Goddess is depicted as eighteen armed, each possessing a different weapon. The Goddess is considered as the Mother of the universe and an embodiment of feminine power and energy.

It pacifies the ill-effects of planetary placements a horoscope. It wards off negative energy and rids one of the evil influences of black magic and evil curses. It is a powerful tool to overcome unfounded fears, especially the fear of death. This Puja can be performed to atone for sins or misdeeds committed. It is believed that this Puja resolves issues related to health and family disputes. The devotee attains name, fame, and success in his / her life. One overcomes enemies and other antagonistic forces in their life. The nine days of Navratri are auspicious for performing Chandi Puja. Also, auspicious days like Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi, Maagh Amavasya, Jyeshta Amavasya, Chaitra, and Kartik Purnima are good for performing the Puja. It is preferred to perform the Homa during the daytime and finish the rituals before sunset.
Puja Description: Kalash Sthapan, Ghata Sthapan, Panchang Sthapana (Gauri Ganesh, Punyavachan, Shodash Matrika, 64 Yogini Sthapan ,Navgrah, Rudra Sthapan, Vaastu Sthapan, Sarvotabhadra, Invocation of Durga, Saptaghrut Matrika Pujan, Kshetrapal Pujan, Swasti Vaachan, Sankalpa, Durga Saptashati, Navaarn mantra Japa, Pushpanjali, Homa and Aarti. It involves the full recitation of the Durga Saptashati for 9 times and a Yagna / Homa is performed with the 10th path of Durga Saptashati. In Durga Saptashati, there are 700 mantras in praise of Devi Durga in which she defeats various demons. With the recital of each of the 700 shlokas, and Ahuti (Offering) is made to the sacrificial fire.
